The Status of Omani women in the Sultanate of Oman

Debunk stereotypes project

I'm Eman A'Shmali. I'm studying in grade 12 in Fatma Bint Qais school. My school is in Ibri, Al-Dahira region, Sultante of Oman.

I have chosen this topic to change the idea the people all over the world have about the situation of the Omani women.

After 1970, when His Majesty Sultan Qaboos had ruled Oman, everything has changed. One of these things is the situation of the women in Oman. He gave them all rights they deserve to have a good life.

For example, they have the right to study in schools then join any universities or any colleges they want, inside or outside the country. Also they have the right to work in any job they want. Moreover, the first female minister in Arabian Gulf is an Omani woman. They have the right to establish their own companies and mange them. Also they have the right to express their thoughts and opinions. That is briefly, all of these are simple examples to show the world that Omani women are free and they are given their rights.

So, what do think about that? Do agree with me or you still think that the Omani women are not free?
